Ever Wary

Every cat needs a vantage point, a place where he can safely survey his surroundings without easily being seen. Cuervo Sebastian has found a handy place that supplies him with just enough leverage to jump onto Cluny when he appears and nonchantly walks around the other end of the dresser. Ah, how surprised Cluny will be! What satisfaction for Cuervo to know that he has one-upped that Cluny!
I wondered why he kept knocking off the vase that occupied that particular space before he did. Now I know.
Meanwhile, where is Cluny? In the den, beside Daddy, fast asleep in his favourite position.

Let Sleeping Cats Lie

Cuervo looks like a little snug kitty angel while he sleeps, and reminds us that he is only 10 months old.Wherever I am, without fail
People notice my exquisite tail.
And Cluny is really proud of his pretty tiger-striped tail; he has to show it off even when he's sleeping!

A Little Hideaway....

Cluny's red eyes are not fixable with the photo program I have since they only do a small portion of the eye (it was made for the human eye, not the big eyes of such a marvelous feline). Cluny hides under a pillow on the bed hoping no one will notice so that he can jump out and scare whomever breathless!

Yes, It's Spring!

Pennsylvania has Phil, but here at our house, all we have to do is open the powder room window; if a cat jumps in and stays more than 5 minutes, you know that it's time for good weather!

Sleeping Babies

What do cats and babies have in common? They are both ultra adorable when they are sleeping. Passing up a sleeping cat and the strong urge to pet him/her is almost impossible.
And it's true that cats are like people in that they different sleeping styles. Darwin (all black) prefers to sleep curled up tightly most of the time. He only stretches out when he is totally under the covers and against my back.
Dakota, on the other hand, is very mellow looking. He can even sleep with all fours up in the air on his back!

Hmmm.....I can't believe that dog is sleeping in my spot on MY towel--Hisssssssssss.
Oh, well, it's late, and I guess I may as well try to sleep even though Darcy snores.

Coo-Coo Coolio

Coolio is a wonderful cat who also belongs to my sister and her husband. He came from the town that I live in which is over 200 miles away from her home. My sister's son, the Armadillo I call him, spent major parts of many summers with me, and one summer under the influence of some friends, he decided that he needed an iguana as a pet.
I prevailed upon him to reconsider, but only actually succeeded by taking him to the Humane Society here and letting a cat pick him out. Coolio did this by climbing on a chair in the office when all the cats were out for a cage cleaning and constantly nibbling on the Armadillo's ear from behind. Finally the Armadillo noticed him and decided to take him home.
Coolio knew he was lucky. When we met my sister halfway to drop off the Armadillo, I waved good-bye to her as she sat in the front seat of her car smiling down at Coolio whom she was holding baby-style. I don't think Coolio has ever looked back. He still loves his Nana (as I am known to him) and enjoys seeing me whenever I visit or come to stay to take care of him now that the Turtle is in D.C. and the Armadillo is at University.
He is a proud kitty, tender-hearted and affectionate; he still has that little habit of nibbling on your ears or even sometimes giving you a little love bite on the chin if you are not paying sufficient attention to him.
