Sleeping Babies

What do cats and babies have in common? They are both ultra adorable when they are sleeping. Passing up a sleeping cat and the strong urge to pet him/her is almost impossible.
And it's true that cats are like people in that they different sleeping styles. Darwin (all black) prefers to sleep curled up tightly most of the time. He only stretches out when he is totally under the covers and against my back.
Dakota, on the other hand, is very mellow looking. He can even sleep with all fours up in the air on his back!

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

or....The Spectacular Adventures of Darcy and Millie
Hmmm.....I can't believe that dog is sleeping in my spot on MY towel--Hisssssssssss.
Oh, well, it's late, and I guess I may as well try to sleep even though Darcy snores.

Coo-Coo Coolio

Coolio is a wonderful cat who also belongs to my sister and her husband. He came from the town that I live in which is over 200 miles away from her home. My sister's son, the Armadillo I call him, spent major parts of many summers with me, and one summer under the influence of some friends, he decided that he needed an iguana as a pet.
I prevailed upon him to reconsider, but only actually succeeded by taking him to the Humane Society here and letting a cat pick him out. Coolio did this by climbing on a chair in the office when all the cats were out for a cage cleaning and constantly nibbling on the Armadillo's ear from behind. Finally the Armadillo noticed him and decided to take him home.
Coolio knew he was lucky. When we met my sister halfway to drop off the Armadillo, I waved good-bye to her as she sat in the front seat of her car smiling down at Coolio whom she was holding baby-style. I don't think Coolio has ever looked back. He still loves his Nana (as I am known to him) and enjoys seeing me whenever I visit or come to stay to take care of him now that the Turtle is in D.C. and the Armadillo is at University.
He is a proud kitty, tender-hearted and affectionate; he still has that little habit of nibbling on your ears or even sometimes giving you a little love bite on the chin if you are not paying sufficient attention to him.

Girls and Jewelry

Girls love jewelry, and Millicent is no exception!
Millicent, or Millie as she is more commonly known, is my sister's cat, a rescued cat who was not treated very well before she came to live with my sister who now treats her like the feline Queen she is. She is a meltable furball who still will pick on Coolio, the older male cat who is about twice her size and quite respectful of her.
If you don't have a kitty to make your life happy and interesting, what are you waiting for? The best love and disdain, affection and aloofness are waiting for you in some little furball somewhere. Find that furball and bring him/her home NOW!!!
